Ed has been involved in golf for more than 20 years. Ed graduated from Ferris St. University, the original Professional Golf Management school. While at Ferris St., Ed got to learn from some of the game’s best while doing internships at such locations as TPC Scottsdale, Desert Mountain and Old Tabby Links at Spring Island. These internships provided hands-on experience in the golf business and also working with some of the games best teachers such as Jim Flick, Bob Toski and Paul Runyan.
Ed gained PGA membership in 1996 and has been a professional since then, working as an assistant professional, head professional or teachingprofessional. Brill settled in the Jacksonville Fl. Area, starting a family and working as an assistant and then Head Professional at Queen’s Harbour Yacht and CC. Ed then went on to teach and run the Golfplex at University of North Florida.
He started with the TOUR Academy in 2007 at the World Golf Village, and has moved on to Hilton Head to be the Head Instructor at the TOUR Academy on Hilton Head Island. Ed still plays competitively, and has done well in local and section PGA tournaments. He is always playing or researching the golf swing, staying current with what is happening in fitness, mental conditioning and other areas that can help the beginner golfer to the TOUR player.
Ed loves teaching the game of golf from new players to very competent players. Basics are stressed, but ultimately it’s about how each student delivers the club through the ball. Ed does not try to teach each student the same thing in the same way as everyone is different. Ed tries to build upon your strengths, while improving your weaknesses to make your swing more efficient.
