Last week, Dave Seeman introduced The Bucket Drill as a way to ingrain the feeling of being pre-loaded right at address. But it's also a great way to practice your arm swing up to the T-finish. To practice the vertical swing get a large, flexible bucket like you'll find on many practice tees. While any type of object could do in a pinch, Dave likes the flexible bucket because it will collapse if you put too much weight on it from your left side. Then go into your setup routine and swing freely from "thumbs up" in the backswing until "thumbs up" in the forward upswing. While you won't be able to do a proper weight transfer because your left leg is not properly supported, you will find that the drill is able to isolate the feeling of swinging on a vertical plane quite nicely. You'll instantly see how your hands fly up the tree toward a proper finish. So next time you head to the range, try The Bucket Drill before you start hitting balls--it's a great warm up exercise that will help you 'feel" several important components of The Surge Swing.
And now for some timely news. This coming weekend, August 27th, 28th and 29th, Dave is offering a series of Long Game and Short Game half day schools (that can also be combined into a full day school) at Odessa National Golf Club in Townsend, Delaware. Each session is affordably priced at just $299 ($269 for Inner Circle members). There are still a few places available in each of the six sessions on offer so if your need help with your game and want to learn from one of my best certified instructors contact Dave right away at (302) 373-4783 or by email at dseeman@swingsurgeon.com.
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL...
I will be joining Dave for a three-day golf school at Odessa National that begins Saturday, September 9th and wraps up Monday evening, September 11th. We've scheduled this school to run over a weekend to accommodate those with busy work schedules. We even have a residential rate that includes your hotel stay and meals and a non-residential rate for locals or for those who prefer to make their own travel arrangements. I can't wait to get up to Delaware for this golf school, as I know we'll have a great group of golfers ready to improve their games. If you would like to be a part of this golf school please contact Debbie Bragg at (864) 285-0318 for full details.
Keep it vertical,
The Surge!
