Short Game with Kenny Knox PGA
Kenny Knox, a 3-time PGA Tour Champion in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, was known for his outstanding short game skills, including his trademark putting stroke – a smooth pendulum motion that was the envy of fellow pros. They wondered how Kenny could play so poorly off the tee, yet make so many cuts. “I knew I was never out of [a tournament],” says Knox, who still holds the tour record for fewest putts in a PGA Tour tournament round, "because I was always confident that I could put my approach shot close enough to make my first putt. I owe much of my short game prowess to Seve Ballesteros who graciously shared his amazing short game knowledge with me.”
Some highlights from Kenny’s career include:
- All-American at Florida State
- Winner of the 1986 Honda Classic
- Winner of the 1987 Hardee’s Classic
- Winner of the 1990 Southern Open
- More than two dozen Top 10 Finishes on the PGA Tour
