A short time ago I talked about griping the club with the lower hand and making sure the handle was in the crimp. It's amazing what can happen when you let it slip out of that position, even slightly. Believe it or not, that slight movement can cause golfers' biggest problem. What is it?
Alignment! By letting the face of the club go slightly open or shut ' I usually get mine slightly shut if the grip has slipped ' and you know you hit a good, solid shot. So you start to make adjustments and that usually means you start shifting your alignment and it just keeps getting worse. By five holes you're hitting it out in left or right field.
Some say to check the leading edge of the club, but that isn't always square, depending on the manufacturer. A better way to make sure your clubface is square is to check the groove lines on the club. If they are square to the aiming line you're all set!
Keep it vertical,
