Don’t Watch Their Swing!

Fri, 02/11/2011 - 16:30 -- Don Trahan

When I was walking around at the Phoenix Open last week, I couldn'€™t help but notice all the rotational swings. That got me to thinking.

If you'€™re in the Northern Hemisphere, you'€™re probably experiencing some pretty cold weather. Rather than being out on the range or playing, you might be sitting in front of the television, watching all these rotational swings.

For anyone who is visual, that can be dangerous. Those swings can seep into our minds and cause players practicing the Surge Swing all kinds of problems.

With our limited turn, vertical ¾ backswing, our palms are always perpendicular to the ground. Rotational swingers'€™ palms usually point down to the ground in the backswing and forward swing.

My advice is to watch where their balls go instead of watching their swings. It'€™s safer that way.

The Surge!

Have been doing fairly well on the 3/4 limited turn swing, but on my driver I cannot get any distance in my swing. Have tried speeding up, but that is not getting it done either. Help!
