Introducing SwingTECH

Fri, 04/15/2011 - 22:23 -- Don Trahan

I would like to introduce you to a great tool, and the only swing plane product I endorse. It's called SwingTECH and I guarantee that it will help you develop the Surge Swing.

One of my favorite Surgisms is about the importance of the practice swing. If you've been with me for a while, you've heard me say: Before hitting a shot, practice your swing until you "Feel the Swing and then Swing the Feel." The SwingTECH will help you quickly develop that feel so that when you get to the practice tee (or the tee box!), that feeling will be second nature to you. You'll instantly know when you've made a good practice swing and this will allow you to confidently setup and make a great swing.

In the video, my head instructor, Greg MacDonell, and I show you how to setup and ultimately use SwingTECH, but we also go in depth about the benefits that it offers. This really is a remarkable product and I believe in it 100%.

If you like what you see, head on over to Surge's Shop or click here to order one today.

Keep it vertical (and believe me, you will with this product),

The Surge!

B , I understand that most things you see in the infomercial world for golf are junk but this SwingTECH really works to groove the Surge Swing. I took two days of lessons from Greg at Old South in March on the very SwingTECH that Greg and Don are showing on the demo and it does help you feel the swing. The key to me is how you adjust the height of where you attach it directly in line with the base of you neck which sets the device to fit exactly to you size so it fits your swing. This is important to me as i am 6'8" . Greg told me then that they were going to start selling these through the Swing Surgeon site and i am glad to see them doing so. I am going to purchase one and i already know where i am going to put it.

Also i want to say what a great teacher Greg MacDonell is. I had a super two days working on the short game one day and the long game the next. And well worth the just over a grand for two full days of nearly one on one instruction. Can't say enough about it. I have been using the Surge Swing in my game over a year but nothing beats live instruction. As you would expect the lessons really helped me around the greens with putting and chipping immediately and my long game has gotten better as i continue to work on what Greg showed me I needed to worked on. When you are as tall as i am my biggest problem is too much lateral movement. If i can swing when i feel like my head never moves i kill the ball. The best drill he game me to do which works 100% of the time is when my swing starts falling apart......just put your feet together and swing that way which forces you to not move and stay in balance. I swear i can hit a 7 iron 90% as far with my feet together like a chip compared to a full swing just because i hit is so pure with no movement. Everyone try this on the range. Its an old school drill that really works!!!
I have always wanted to swing vertical since i am so tall. A flatter swing with a big turn kills my back even though i am very limber and have no problem turning way past 90 degrees. I am 50 now and i wish i was taught this Surge swing from the beginning. I would have enjoyed golf with far less lower back issues. I took up golf just as the X factor went into vogue. I was thrilled to finally find a swing system to fit the way I always wanted to swing anyway. For what its worth i think this is a great tool and will be getting one shipped to my home in Wake Forest very soon.

Jack, the greatest battle won is the one never fought!

Sun Tzu is a classic philosopher and one of the concepts that stood out after reading "The Art of War" was that of the Tao or my poor interpretation "the energy of life". If one is FULL of the Tao (not of that related to defecation) and gives of the Tao to others to increase their Tao then they do not lose any of their own Tao themselves and may actually increase their own Tao (e.g. a master teaching the apprentice).

But if one is EMPTY of the Tao (but full of the bovine defecation like a lot of our politicians) then when they give of their emptiness of the Tao to others then they reduce everyone's Tao. This is what p's me off with politicians because they generally fall into the later group, the Tao empty, but some how they get voted into office - it just baffles me!

If you don't know the specific costs to produce, rights and patents costs, other associated business costs, and reasonable profit to support a reasonable lifestyle, you can't really judge whether his price is out of line for the product. You can state that its cost is in excess of what you would pay for the product. That's fine. If economies of scale become such that the costs to manufacture, market, and ship the product become significantly lower, I expect we'd see a commensurate drop in price to increase demand. The point of a free market system is that the actors in it are driven neither completely by altruism, nor completely by greed, but by a reasonable exchange of value for the fulfilling of a need or desire.

hope it turns around somehow, but it doesnt look very good from here.

You're saying that a 1 ounce piece of meat contains 7 grams of protein (about 1/4th of the weight). That may well be a good rule of thumb. I was showing you a direct conversion between a weight of 1 gram and a mass of 28.4 grams at Earth-normal gravity (just to have fun with physics as well). ;-)

That is the typical result when the government fixes any industry. You should see the way NY makes mold inspectors jump through hoops.

Remember, big brother knows best.

Am I the only one who finds it so funny that all governments know how to best run every business in America, well, except the business of government? If any of us ran our businesses like the government is run, we would be run out of business.

Dick,

There seems to be a serious misunderstanding here. As I argued earlier, the Surge knows a lot about golf, and I like his way of swinging very much, I choose his method when I started to play golf two years ago. So I am not discussing his method. The problem is he keeps telling the world that his method is based on solid physics. Well, it isn't. Big deal? No, but he might as well say that his method was revealed to him by an angel, or more accurate, that he does not know a &*%$ about physics but his method works anyway. That would be closer to the truth.
Maybe you understand now that I don't have a better method, but maybe you can tell me how a single body can have two centers of gravity? Or when you can't tell, maybe you can inform me why he needs this explanation to convince people his method is right?

This looks like an awesome tool to help ingrain the Surge's swing. I just have a hard time getting together that kind of money for $5 worth of plastic pieces, even well-researched, well-engineered plastic pieces. My feeling is that you'd sell 10 times more of them at 1/3 the price. Just my 2 cents. I'll be keeping my eye out for a sale on this, because I'd really like one.

No sir. I swat trolls. They have no redeeming qualities.

Chickens and rabbits have two things in common.

1. They are cute.

2. They are delicious.

I saw a couple of rabbits while I was playing this week. Now I have to see if I can figure out a way to put a driver cover over my .22 rifle in my golf bag. Can you say "lunch?"

Great, now I got myself hungry again.

A similar training aid, the "Explanar"has been developed by a UK professional, Luther Blacklock. Although Blacklock favors a more conventional, less upright plane, I guess it can easily be adjusted to the surge - preferred plane. The details can seen at www.trinityinternationalgolf.c.... I would be interested to hear from any surge - follower who have tried the Explanar.

This is what we get with a democracy, history has shown over and over democracies can't last very long. Something to ponder, We are in reality suppose to be a Constitutional Republic, why did we allow the change to happen? We were sold a bill of goods saying that a democracy was better, better for whom? surely not the middle class, surely not the poor. Hum, who does that leave left? Now you know why the gap between the have's and have not's keeps widening.

For at least 1/2 of that 9% -- or about 5% -- YES!

And another thing -- just why were the jobs shopped shipped shipped overseas? Two reasons -- 1) the cost of USA labor and 2) the US tax system. Remember -- ANY business is in business to make money-- as much money as possible. The oldest fundamental rule of economics -- Management chases labor. So first facotires and jobs left the NorthEast and Upper Mid-West and "went SOUTH" or SouthWest. Now they go to the ASIAN area.

The jobs will ONLY return to the USA when two hings happen -- 1) a tax climate that incourages investors to invest and 2) a realtive change in labor costs - such that USA labor is less costly than foreign labor.

Also, for better or worse, we have become a technological society. The "surviors" and the "get aheades" will be those that can and do get a higher education. Until major segments of our society place at least as much value on education as they do on sports, we will conitnue to have a large group of "unemplyables" -- McDonald's and Wal-Mart only need a certain number of fry clerks, stock boys, etc.

Okay guys, here's the skinny. I got a swing tech 4 months ago and everything on this video is true. This gets you vertical quick. I hooked mine up on my tree in the back yard. It takes up very little room and does no damage to the tree. It FORCES you to get vertical. Frankly it is a bit uncomfortable at first. Why? Because you can't cheat. There is no SBG with this thing. There is only vertical. It becomes more natural after practice and only 5-10 minutes a day is plenty. That's my honest take on it. BTW, I found out early because during the transition to the new site I looked up 'Don Trahan' on the web and a referance to swingtech came up. Cool tool for sure. Easy to set up and easy to use.
edit: ps. It seems it is not on swingsurgeon.com yet (maybe tomorrow?) but if you goggle swingtechgolf.com you'll find it for now. I think Surge will have a discount so you might want to wait till it's here first before you buy.

What happened to your picture? Did the tech guys ban it again?

The wind here is not only "on and off." It can change directions two or three times during a round. We can have it in our face on a long par 5, then when we make the turn and are going the other direction, the wind will change and be right back in our face again.

I think it comes from all the guys full of hot air down in Texas. Our wind goes north when they are talking, then turns around and goes south when they stop and breath in.

This is one of the best parts about this blog. We are all just cracked a little bit. That was a great back and forth.

Speaking of poles, when I first went through the fire academy most fire stations still had the pole for us to slide down to get from the living quarters to the apparatus bay. I always thought an adult club should buy an old fire station. I think it would work out great. The "entertainers" could use the pole, and the wait staff could use it to deliver food and drinks.

Just leaving it there, can't go into more detail.

Here's a tale I found quite some time ago that you will probably enjoy,

HOW TO CATCH WILD PIGS

"There was a Chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Prof noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s government and install a new communist government. In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question.

He asked, ‘ Do you know how to catch wild pigs?’ The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. ‘You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how To forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms- just a little at a time.

One should always remember ‘There is no such thing as a free Lunch! Also, a politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

I just don’t know how some people don’t get this.."

Man, you cut right to the point. While there will be those who disagree with you that this is a one-plane swing...who really cares? John Jacobs, in "The Plane Truth" said "The sole purpose of the golf swing is to produce a correct, repetitive impact, and the method employed is of no significance as long as it is repetitive." I think we agree that this method may provide a much better opportunity to achieve consistent repetition. I know it does for me, and obviously for you too...and it does take practice, but the rewards are definitely worth it.

Keep hittin em straight.

Kevin, when I lived up on the north coast of Oregon where it rans 10 feet a year you had to play when it rained or after a ran frequently or you'd never play. At the Shalishan Golf Course (a beautiful links style course with many ocean view holes) The first fairway became so full of water that the sod actually lifted off of the dirt and floated several inches above the ground. Tou could hit your ball perfectly in the middle of the fairway and it would dive through the sod and disapear, really I swear! Awesome raw beauty and many pretty days made it worth all natural challenges. Once when my brother came to visit and we played at the same course we had the following for weather: It started out looking like it would rain on #1 hole. It did and by the 3rd hole it was torential. No problem, duck under cover. It lightened up to a drizzle for two holes as we played on. Then by the 6th hole it became heavy hailstones. It hailed so heavy for the next 20 minutes that when it stopped the intire golf course(fairways) looked like they were covered with snow. Told mt brother just hang on, as we began to play on. By the back nine the sun came out, hail melted and it stayed sunny and gorgeous the rest of the day. Just another greayt day on the north coast. It was a blast and an unforgettable experience. So if you don't like the weather..........................
Give it a minute, ......who knows :)

PM Julia Gillard is planning to impose a carbon tax (taxing the air we breath) on us next year, but also plans to compensate people affected, Its ridiculous they are just taking with one hand and giving with the other.

Not bad on a day like today Kevin. Here at Lil Mole the wind blows like crazy even on days when it is calm everywhere else and today it was nasty. I would say that I should have stayed home because I couldn't putt a lick today but the iron shots I hit today were worth the price of admission.
Everyone says I don't have much of a Surge Swing but whatever it is that I've changed to is unbelievable for my iron, and even fairway wood shots. Heck the driver is even getting a little better.
I had one really horrible driver shot on a par 5 against the wind (tried to hit it too hard) and almost missed the ball and topped a little duck hook that only went about 75 yards. On my next shot I killed a 3 wood around some trees and had 170 yards left against the wind. I hit a 5 iron to 2 feet and tapped it in for a not so routine birdie. Maybe I should always hit a lob wedge off of that tee.LOL
Birdied three par threes also. On one of the par threes against the wind a couple of big hitters that I was playing with hit 6 irons and came up short and couldn't believe it when I pulled out an 8 iron and hit it inside of 3 feet.
I never dreamed that having some kind of system to use would make this much difference.
I have a good feeling that the weather is fixin' to get better and we'll all be lighting it up.

I have been following your weather on the news here. Glad to hear that you are safe and unharmed -- so far at least.

Just got word late today that my Daughter is in the hospital. She had emergency surgery earlier today for a herniated stomach muscle, is doing well but will be in the hospital for a couple of days. Please add her to your prayer list.

Now for the Golf report!

Played this afternoon behind a "society" torunment, apparently a fund raiser for a local college. Weather was warm and sunny, mostly calm but with a mischievous breeze that appeared and disapeared on 5 to 10 minute intervals, usually at the worst possible moment.

I only hit 8 fariways today - a touch of "army golf" and one GIR ( a par 3)
Got 3 pars (all on par 3's) and 11 bogies, 3 doubles and one "quad bogie" - -seems I saved most of my bad shots for one hole!
7 one-putts and 1 three-putt
Hit 4 greenside bunkers, but managed to get 2 "Sandies" -- I guess all the recent bunker experience is finally paying off!
Score: 45 + 48 = 93 A little higher than my average, but certainly better than the 99 last time out.

Keep hitting them STRAIGHT and LONG

Britain retracted soon enough to survive as a nation but had to shed the Empire to do so
About 600 BC, Sun Tzu wrote "The Art of War"
It meticulously defines the cost of activities in physical terms
In todays world, the financial costs are less tangible & seem to be almost ignored
I have no doubt that our politicians have read Sun Tzu but act against its recommendations
