A Closer Look At Impact Position

Last week I posted a video that demonstrated a number of swing drills you can use to improve your swing from impact up to a perfect T-Finish. In the discussion that ensued, a Surgite by the name of Boston George asked for a visual demonstration of the moment of impact.

"Surge - Is there any chance you can show the impact position with The PPGS? I think it would help many of us if we had an image of where we want the club handle and head to be in relation to our hands at impact. Love the swing--just want to work on the ultimate goal getting from vertical to a perfect impact position."

Well, George, as always I am more than happy to oblige. You've asked for a demonstration of something that only lasts one half of one thousandth of a second and that is too darn fast for a human to be able to see in real time. So it's really something that we have to take on faith will happen as long as we do everything before it properly. And since you asked for a visual demo I am going to dispense with a written summary today as this picture is worth far more than a thousand words. It may help to watch the video in Full Screen mode so just click the button in the lower right hand portion of the video player--the one with four arrows shooting outward.

thanks, I do have covers with doors, my cover on my cart is really nice, I keep it on year around, just doors off in summer.   I have thought about a heater, but, really my right hand it the only part that gets cold, I don't like wearing a glove on my right hand, but, did today some.    It was grea being out, maybe tomorrow too???  We shall see.   All I want is to hit the ball good.

All you need to do, to stop the video action is hit pause at the appropriate time. No special video player is required to hit pause. You should be able to stop any video of any swing by clicking pause.

Surge, how about some close up video of how to measure the length of golf clubs

Well, went out today, kinda cool, 41 out, but, no wind at all.   I just hit aroung, of course I was the only one on the course!!!!!   Just a little drill, half swing and try to hit it straight and I did, my right hand did get a little cold, I would put glove on, take glove off, played six holes, wanted to play more, butttttttt. 

It was fun and glad to be out, thought of Surge and his teachings, that is why I did short backswings and just hit straight and up the tree!   With all the clothes on, it is hard to have a full swing, at least for me it is????

Hey Marylin,
You should try one of the cart heaters if you have a cover. As much as you like to get out and play you would not only play better but enjoy it a lot more.
