While we're out here at the chilly Phoenix Open, our head instructor, Greg MacDonnell filled in with a great video on posture.
As Greg says, we need to get into an athletically ready position in the setup. That lets us free up our arms to get our vertical swing.
I think one of the best parts of the tip is the part where, in the backswing, he says 'the arm goes up to the chin, the chin doesn't go down to the arm.' Moving the head down is a huge problem I see with many students. You'll immediately pull yourself out of dynamic balance.
Take Greg's advice, the arm goes up to the chin.
