Knock It Down The Middle

There are always a couple guys at the club in their 70s or 80s about whom everyone says, '€œAll he does is bop it down the middle, bop it down the middle, then knocks it up on the green and shoots par.'€ Like that'€™s a bad thing?

I'€™ve talked a lot about distance and accuracy and you know what I prefer. In the middle, always. I'€™ve never been a tremendously long hitter. So I play to my strengths. Which is really how I would like all of you to play. If it takes you three shots to get to that par 4 green, work on the third shot so it will always land close to the pin.

If you find your hybrids are easier to hit, don'€™t be afraid to use them! Why penalize yourself to get more distance and end up flubbing it out of the rough when you know you have more control of your shorter clubs. Think about your game and what you do best. Give yourself a good chance to get a good score.

Keep it vertical,

The Surge!
