A Lesson in Gravity: Matt, 3rd Clip

Fri, 08/27/2010 - 22:00 -- Don Trahan

This is another clip of Matt Steffe of C-prime and the Surge during our shoot at the exclusive Secession Golf Club near Beaufort, South Carolina. Matt, 6′6″, a Californian who played professional basketball in Eastern Europe, was “subjected” to an impromptu lesson from the 5′9″ Surge between takes on a video shoot.

I have known Don to give a mini-lesson in a parking lot at a hotel, in the hotel lobby, while a group of us were standing in line at a restaurant, to our server at the same restaurant, in a lawyer's office, and in the middle of a very expensive video shoot. We tease him unmercifully about his “lesson addiction,” but sort of stand in awe at his passion to teach. He doesn't need a lesson tee. He just needs a question about the golf swing … and you're off. It is both fun an inspirational to watch.

In this clip, the Surge continues his rock and string lesson in gravity, plus so much more. We captured a moment in time here. We just left the camera run. The audio isn't perfect, the lens was a little steamed up (the humidity was as high as it can get in the Lowcountry — that's really high), but this was a piece of the real Surge.

We hope to have a few more to share. We're very pleased you're enjoying this series. And thank you, Secession Golf Club, yet again the marvelous host.
