In honor of the Women's U.S. Open, I thought I would read an article in GolfWeek magazine about Louise Suggs' journey to the RR Donnelly LPGA Founders Cup. Suggs, 87, is one of the 13 original founders of the LPGA. The article just shows how important the history of this game is and how we can be proud to call ourselves golfers.
The article, by Beth Ann Baldry, highlights a few points in Suggs career, along with two other fellow founders, Shirley Spork and Marilynn Smith who also attend the Founders Cup.
While the article (March 25, 2011 issue) is full of historical gems, Suggs experience playing with Bob Jones is one we should all latch onto. Whenever possible, play with someone better than you ' much better ' and you'll get better for doing it.
Keep it vertical,
The Surge!
