Syl Bailey recently posted this question on the blog:
"I use Adams clubs so I have 3-4 hybrids instead of irons. My problem is anything under a 6-iron. I constantly slice everything from a 5-iron on up, including my driver. The problem is in the release of the club through the swing. I want to rotate the right hand under the left (I'm right-handed). Do you have any drills that will help me through this problem?"
Syl, the key to solving your problem lies in perfecting Secret #2: Keep Your Palms Perpendicular. Remember, in the Peak Performance Golf Swing we want to keep the palms perpendicular at address, then through into the Catcher's Mitt before we lift the club to our vertical position. The same applies throughout the Forward Upswing. There are several drills you can practice to help you with this concept, which I cover in detail in today's video. Both The Skipping Rocks Drill and The Book Drill will help you mentally picture what you need to do before you physically drill them into your swing.
Keep it vertical!
