Ben Hogan did it. I do it. And you should, too. Take notes.
This may sound too much like you're back in school, but I promise you, if you keep a nice little notebook in your back pocket and something hits you, like “work on alignment” or remember to take a practice swing, you'll be amazed at how much those little notes improve your game.
Say you're working on chipping (because you're going to be a short game wizard, right?), and a swing thought pops into your head, like where your hands should be, and it's working … write it down. It really is amazing how much it will help you. Think of it as a diary of swing thoughts the work!
I've been doing it for years. People say Mr. Hogan always had a pad when he went to the range. Use your smart phone, keep track. Whatever you're comfortable with. It's astounding what we forget … and what we can remember when we take notes.
The Surge!
P.S. IC members: get ready for the first PPGS Tournament in December. Announcement to come shortly!
