Pure Focus for Ball Striking

Tue, 07/14/2015 - 14:00 -- Don Trahan

Becoming a solid ball striker can transform your game. Your head movement plays a critical role, so it's important to keep it still. Don't be fooled by rotational swing instructors telling you it's okay to move your head a little bit. What do they mean? How much is a little?

Check out my drill for absolute, pure focus that will help you achieve more consistency than ever before. Remember, it's all about keeping your nose at the ball and keeping your head still!

Let's get back to high hands and vertical swings!

I watched your video on stretching. Since I'm an 'older' lady golfer, I need all the help I can get to keep me from being stiff. I have arthritis issues with my hips, knees, back, etc.
I used your advice - and passed it along to my golf partners - and realized after the first day I used it that I wasn't hurting as much when I finished.
I will continue to do these stretches and thank you so much for your continued help.

Doris, am 71 next month and it seems I have exactly the same issues as you
with hips, knees & back. I posted on the blog an excercise which I do daily,
which is dated the 6/24/15 and you can check this it out. This exercise was
demonstrated to me by a Martial Arts instructor and has done wonders for me, I do these every morning and some times leading up to a golf game, no pills required, lol.

It's a bit difficult to describe and I searched the web to see if i could find something on a video or pictorial, but no luck. Give it a go and post some thing on this blog if you have any questions as I check it daily.

My game has gone in leaps and bounds this year and partly put it down to being more flexible, even starting to out drive my younger competitors and taking their money too.

Hey!
I was away for quite a while, what happened to the hundreds of bloggers and commentators that used to share their knowledge and point of views on the PPGS and engage in so many very interesting discussions??

Don,

Is there much difference between the PPGS golf swing you teach and the Square-to-Square method taught by Doug Tewell? Thanks for your response. MPA

I purchased a series of your beginning golf videos a couple of years ago and they were downloaded on my laptop.
However, for several months now, I have attempted to retrieve them and can not find them.
Is there anyway I can receive (download) another copy of the videos?

Could not agree more on the still head Surge. Some of the best golf I have played was with the one & only focus on keeping my head perfectly still until the ball has gone.

Hi, can't seem to access videos on a mobile device (iPhone). Any suggestions?

Should work now. Wasn't just the iPhone that was having problems. It was several browsers minus Firefox. We found the problem today and I just fixed the code so the videos will play again. Pesky bug.... Now squashed!
