Tee Height Difference

We got a really interesting question from Cajun. '€œIf you tee up the ball for the irons, should you change the position of the ball in the stance?'€ It'€™s a great question and it deserves a great answer: no.

I'€™m guessing Cajun is probably asking about a par 3. My suggestion on par 3'€™s is: one, always use a tee and two, basically no matter what club you'€™re using, get the tee as close to the ground as possible. But always have that little cup in the tee holding the ball.

Most amateurs tee it too high on a par 3 and usually end up hitting the top of the club, not the sweet spot. You end up with a ball going high and short.

If you'€™re trying to hit a knock down shot due to wind, tee it up the same but take a club one or two lower and control the height of the ball by adjusting your follow through rather than trying to regulate the shot with tee height. I don'€™t change my ball position and don'€™t change my tee height. I control the shot with correct club choice and, when necessary, follow through.

Take a good look at the video. I think you'€™ll get what I mean.
