Honda Classic and Ball Position

Wed, 03/02/2011 - 16:41 -- Don Trahan

Well here we are at the Honda Classic. DJ and I are standing on a really high back porch in West Palm Beach. DJ said the PGA National, where the tournament is being played this week, is one of the toughest three courses on the PGA Tour. He also said it was one of his favorites.

DJ made a discovery this week that I want all of you to know about. It's one of those things in the setup we don't always think about and that's ball position. DJ thought he was swinging well but something was wrong. He felt like he was sliding into the ball and that was causing pulls and pushes.

Then he discovered his ball position was too far forward. He was kind of leaping into it. So he moved it back and things started to change for the better.

While he's still working on his timing, he's standing up faster and he said he feels better every time he hits the ball.

Tomorrow we'€™ll talk about another discovery DJ made. That one will be about putting.

Take a look at the video and always check the ball position!
