Doppler Radar Takes Club Fitting To New Heights

Thu, 04/26/2012 - 18:25 -- Don Trahan

Today I'm coming to you from our golf school in Bluffton, South Carolina. Being our home base for operations, Old South Golf Links always has a tremendous setup for our 3 day schools. What's exciting about this golf school is that PPGS Certified Fitter, Dale Moser is here all week to help the students with their equipment. Dale is a new resident of nearby Okatie, SC so having his shop so close by and accessible makes adjusting clubs for our students very quick.

You may have seen Doc Griffin use his FlightScope Doppler Radar in some previous golf schools and daily videos. Well, Dale also uses the FlightScope system and at this week's golf school he decided to put together a booklet of all the information and data that FlightScope detects. Each student received their own book of personalized data, which they all agreed was very informative. It allowed Dale to explain their swings through visual imagery and high tech information.

List of Upcoming Golf Schools featuring Greg MacDonell, Dave Seeman, Dale Moser, John Dranschak and more...

As you all know, we like to test our students' alignment at each school. I hate to say, although I'm not surprised, that we're still batting "0.00". Some were close to having decent alignment but once we got them lined up correctly, it was amazing how they all said the swing became easier. This is because they were no longer having to compensate for their poor alignment.

If you'd like a lesson on how to align yourself correctly, check out a daily video from DJ here. Alignment, alignment, alignment...don't play golf without it!

Keep it vertical,

The Surge!

 Dick,

As with everyone else, I am very sorry for your loss.  I know what you are going through as my nephew/godson was killed in Iraq a few years ago and left behind a young wife and two little children.  It is not something you will ever get over, but the Lord will provide you strength, comfort, and consolation to see you through until the day you meet again in the Father's house.

Know that you and your family are and will be in my prayers.

I just learned of your loss, please accept my condolences in this time of sorrow. To lose a child is a most unnatural thing, I can't imagine the sadness that you must be feeling at this moment, I can only hope that the memories of your son will carry you through these troubled times. May God bless you, and may His perpetual light shine upon your son.

Commiserations Dick on your tragic loss.   I firmly believe that your son's efforts were not in vain but rather "orta recens quam pura nites" that they will shine brilliantly in Heaven (and also "Paradise") because he was a staunch defender of Humanity and a free world.

I feel gutted and appalled when so called "influencial" people make crude and flippant comments about service people who give their lives to maintain our free world, comments such as "they shouldn't be over there in the first place".    Well it's probably a far better thing to fight the enemies of our free world "over there" than it is to fight it on your own streets.

Very very sorry to hear of your loss Dick. I cant imagin a greater loss than to loose a child. Just the thought of what you must be going through, puts a lump in my throat, and a tear in my eye. God bless you and your family

The best and bravest among us are too often the first to go. Great things gone undone throughout history because of candles out too soon. Tasks unfinished too often left to lessor men and women as the greatest graduate this life early and are called home.

Dick,
Having been out of the loop the last couple of days, I was shocked to come on tonight and see your posting. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Lee family in the home-going of your son. I have just concluded a prayer for the family. I asked for comfort in this time of loss and thanked our Lord for my friend, Sgt. Dick Lee,Jr. His sacrifice of love & honor will not be forgotten in the McCloud household. I like others of the nation have mentioned, look forward to the time I can personally thank him for his devotion to duty and his fellow man.
My family will continue to keep you & yours in our prayers.Love you ,Brother!

 Dick,

I am so saddened and pained to read your blog today.  I cannot imagine what you felt knowing the meaning of seeing two soldiers waiting for you in your driveway. Neither can I imagine what you and your family are feeling and going through today and in the future.

On behalf of the Trahan family and I am sure I speak for all of the Surge Nation, we extend to you and your family our deepest sympathies for your son's supreme sacrifice for his country.  We will keep Dick A. Lee, Jr, Sgt U.S. Army in our prayers as well for you and all of your family.  Please know that we all care and walk with you in your time of grief.

Surge, Greg and Dale,

Thanks for the interesting stuff that the radar reveals. I'm really looking forward to the new insight on alignment Don. Hopefully it will be just what we need to really get it right from now on. Alignment is one thing I know I key on all the time on every shot from tee to green. I don't leave home without it and work at it constantly.

 Dick,

Words seem so meaningless at a time like this. Please take whatever comfort you can from knowing, with absolute certainty, that there are millions of Americans who loved your son even though we never had the privilege of meeting him in this life. With God's grace, I look forward to the time when I am called home and I can personally thank him and all of the other brave Americans who have given the last great measure of devotion in the defense of freedom.

God bless you and your family, now and forever.

Surge Nation

If the Bible is true, and I have great faith that it is, then the verse about that no man can have a greater love than that he is willing to lay down his life for others, must also be true.  My son loved you all, even though he never met you.

I need your prayers like no other time in my life.  My daughter and my 5 year old, David, and 3 year old, Josh, grandsons need your prayers.

It is with a crushed heart that I tell you that Dick A. Lee, Jr, Sgt. U.S. Army has been called home to our Lord.  My boy was killed in action in Afghanistan yesterday.  When I got home there were 2 soldiers in their dress blues standing in my driveway.  That is a feeling I can not even begin to describe.

I will be going to Maryland probably today or tomorrow to be there when my son comes home.  I don't have any idea about any other arrangements that will be made after that.

I will keep you posted as I can think better and as I know more.

You all know that my son always said to say hello to you folks and to thank you for your prayers and support for him.

You also know how much I love the Surge Nation and all the people in it.  You have been there for me through tough personal times.  This one is about as big a mountain as I have ever had to climb.

Dick, words cannot express the sorrow that I feel for you and your family on the loss of your son.  So, I will go one better and be sure that I say a prayer for you, your family, and your son this Sunday at church service.  Ten minutes before reading our post, I sent email to my Sunday golf group that the earliest I can play Sunday is after church service gets out.  Something compelled me to send out that email, the first time I have ever done to pre-emp an early tee time.  There must  have been a been a reason.  CharlieYÂÂ
