The key to having perfect posture is being in an athletically ready position with actively engaged muscles. The setup determines the motion, so your setup better be perfect!
We usually talk about posture when it comes to the full swing, but it’s just as important when it comes to our short game. I think golfers get a little sloppy on short chip shots and one of the reasons is because they don’t have good posture.
Today, I'm going to show you some bad habits that golfers get into when they start getting closer to the green. Just because your wedges are your shortest clubs, doesn't mean that you need to slouch over top of the ball. That's where the accordion effect comes into play.
Posture is for all golf shots, even the tiny strokes with your putter. You’ll be more athletically ready, your muscles will be more engaged, and your hands and arms will be able to manipulate the club properly into the catcher’s mitt (backward and forward).
Keep it vertical!
