Many people in the Surge Nation have asked for an alternative to driving great distances in order to be fitted by a Swing Surgeon/PPGS Certified Club Fitter. I've always stated the importance of playing clubs that were designed specifically for each individual. However, I understand that not everyone lives close to our certified fitters. Doc Griffin has come up with a solution that I think will really excite a lot of you!
PPGS Director of Club Fitting Operations, Doc Griffin, has decided to take his skills on the road. Beginning in May, Doc will launch Mobile Fitting. The concept is simple. If there is a group of individuals in a particular area that would like to utilize Doc's services, then he will make the trip as long as at least four people have committed.
Along with Doc's Long Distance Club Fitting program, Mobile Fitting will become another great way for you to tap into resources that will improve your golf game. More details can be found on Doc's website, www.docgriffingolf.com.
Keep it vertical,
The Surge!

Hey Mike,
Congrats to your Wildcats!!!!

To say that what happens when
To say that what happens when I hit a ball off of a lie board is wrong, or shouldn't happen, or that you've never seen it happen, or that my swing is so bad that maybe that's why it happens, or anything wouldn't bother me at all. Probably all true.
To say that what I see with my own eyes every time can't happen is very offensive.
Let me know if you are going
Let me know if you are going to Chicago suburbs June - Sept or in Sarasota, FL before June 6th. ÃÂ I will participate
Mine are the same way goodÃÂ
Mine are the same way goodÃÂ on a lie board and straight divots when I play well if I start missing left then I get toe deep. My guess for me is I am closing the face to quickly through impact or slightly coming over the top or a combination of both I do fight a slight over the top move and have always done so but hit straight shots most of the time with some pulls and pull hooks.
When I miss shots to the left and see it on a computer may club face is closed 3* every time I do it. ÃÂ
I will post as they are
I will post as they are scheduled but as stated, I'm not putting the fittings together.
ÃÂ Good guess but not
ÃÂ Good guess but not accurate. The swings are exactly the same whether I am hitting off of a lie board or not, in fact I rotate every other shot between the ground and the lie board and hit at a target to make sure the swings are the same.
My misses are left because I am pulling out too early or rotating my arms too fast or both. I have to pull out early to save my shoulder but occasionally make it too early.ÃÂ
Everybody's misses go somewhere. Some people miss mostly to the right, some miss mostly to the left, some miss equally left and right. Mine happen to be left and that's as good as anything else.
Really doesn't matter where my misses are likely to be, as long as I know where they are likely to be and as long as I don't have very many misses.
Much harder to play the game on those times when we have no clue where the misses are likely to be.
I like knowing that I am either going to hit a good shot or that I am going to miss left and as long as I am playing well that's the case. I used to not have a clue where my misses were going and it was a terrible way to try to play.
Thanks it was a great game.
Thanks it was a great game. Now we wait and see how many players will be left for next year. I hope Davis comes back he's a great player but I don't think he is ready for the NBA strength wise he got man handled on the offensive side of the ball. It would be nice to get them all back but they loose one to graduation and I would be shocked if any of the starters return.
"Also, the lie board does not
"Also, the lie board does not cause the head to come through flat yet the ground gives way and show toe deep divots. ÃÂ If you are going toe deep, it would even show up on the tape using a lie board by a deeper or more of tear towards the toe even though the tape may be marked into the center and beyond as well."
It certainly wasn't my intent to say anything even close to questioning what you see.ÃÂ
ÃÂ I stated fact: ÃÂ 1. ÃÂ the lie board can not keep a club from deflecting as it normally would if swung with the same force. ÃÂ 2. ÃÂ If you were going toe deep in the earth, you'd go toe deep even on the lie board and the tape would shoe more or deeper marks or even a slight tear past center even though the tape may have marks in the center and past toward the heel.
The possible conclusions I offered were: ÃÂ 1. since the lie tape doesn't show a toe deep mark when hitting off the lie board the "playing" swing is probably more forceful resulting in more toe down effect. 2. ÃÂ Probable explanation for toe down divots and the ball still going left is powerful rotation of the club at impact to keep the club face from opening.
Not doubting what you see or even remotely questioning what you see. ÃÂ Just merely trying to offer a plausible explanation for how it can happen. ÃÂ Sorry you found what I said offensive.
