Today I'm going to share some stories that have been sent in over the last couple months. They all have to do with golfers who have found success after switching to the Peak Performance Golf Swing. 

Some golfers love this swing because it enables them to play golf pain free. Others like it because the swing is so simple to learn and easy to implement. Whatever the reason, I love to hear these kinds of stories because it proves that this swing is FOR REAL!

Surge, as you know I originally purchased your video set to assist my dad in regaining a golf swing after his stroke 5 years ago. Well I can say that not only did my dad find success in getting back to playing golf but I also gained as a result of leaning your vertical ¾ turn swing.

The biggest and most important feature of your system is that it is SIMPLE which makes it REPETABLE and RELIABLE. I think that the PPGS builds a golf swing from the ground up, set-up determines the motion, proper alignment, and ¾ limited turn with a swing up to a t-finish is reliable! Why simple = reliability? I think that a golf swing that is simple and easy to use if far more reliable than those that employ complicated rotational methods to achieve the same desired results. The PPGS is designed to SIMPLY WORK.

Yesterday I spent 8 hours with Don in Sydney with 3 other Surgites. We all had varying skill levels etc, but all came away better for it. I originally was drawn to the PPGS due to neck pain midway thru rounds…this went after I began embracing the vertical swing. Yesterday was my first face to face lesson and of course I wasn't nearly as upright as I thought I was, but even though I was 1/2 rotational and 1/2 vertical ( well really only 3/4 turn with laid off start and finish) I was still playing better golf AND pain free. So even if you only get it part right, it still helps. Now I have the knowledge to re-tool all the swing and I expect to greatly improve my consistency, which is the biggest weakness in my game. I play off 5…my last 5 rounds have been 71 75 83 82 81 and the last 3 didn't feel like I'd played much worse than the first 2. Here's to more sub 80's and the break through to a sub 70 very soon!!!! Thanks again to Don, and I wish my fellow students Charlie, Sandy and Mike all the best with their new swings, too.

I was sitting at a table in the clubhouse today drinking some very good hot chocolate. Getting cold around here, ya know.. A guy asked my PPGS partner, John, why he liked this 'swing'. He first started off by saying... listening to Don in all his videos is like having him right here with us at the table drinking and talking. He is just so darn easy to understand. He then said what I've loved about it too. It's very repeatable. We've been at it for 3 years now, I think. I'm losing track but I'll never change, so i don't care how long it's been. I also don't post very often and when I do post, I sound like I'm bragging. I don't mean to come across that way. I really just want to word my post in a way that a new person, who just found this site, reads it and realizes that PPGS does work and works well. And....I'm really doggone happy about it! I'm on both sides of fence on why I like it. It's a pain free swing and I can play some good golf with it. Really, much better than I thought I could after retiring 6 years ago. I'm heading to Myrtle Beach in a couple weeks and our group is playing a couple tough courses, Heritage and TPC. They would eat my lunch 5 years ago. Now, thanks to Don and PPGS, I'll have blast and I can't wait to take those tracks on. Fairways and greens, baby!

I've been following your swing for a couple of years now, but still slicing the driver quite significantly.
However 3 weeks ago I realized one major flaw in my address and impact positions ... and that was (I'm a righty) I was not paying attention to the triangle - and specifically I needed to keep my left arm and club in line and wrist flat.
Amazing difference - no slice

Thanks Surge for all you do helping us duffers.
When I try to use both arms pulling the club down to impact I get hooks with all the clubs. If I lighten up on the right arm there isn't as much club speed but the ball goes straighter. Can you help?

Jerry, Here are some ideas that may help. You have heard that "the set up determines the motion" right? Originally in speaking about the position of the arms in the set up Surge would call it the FAD verses a BAD. Now it is called simply the Master set up Position. The idea is that Many of us set up with a dominant right arm- Back Arm Dominant-BAD. This is when the back arm and shoulder are too high (and often too tense and flexed) in the set up. This sets us up for trouble even though it feels strong. The correction is too soften the back arm and allow the back shoulder to be softer and down along with the back right forearm also being relatively under the front forearm (when viewed from behind- looking down the foot line toward the target in the set up. This allows the leading front forearm to appear slightly higher in the set up. (front arm dominant). I think this was a good visual for our minds because it was also a reminder to avoid getting the back right arm 'muscled up' and tense(and over powering or dominant. Likely Don switched to the term 'Master set up Position' in part because we are looking for the arms and hands to actually be equal partners. All of this is predicated by a correct grip which aids the hands and our bodies to in getting into a better set up. Surge covers this in several paid videos, the best being the 'PPGS UPDATE' found in the Fundamentals series. So hopefully you own that. there in you'll find the Master set Up Position video lesson. Of course I am only guessing that this is in large part a cause of your hooks but set up and alignment are always a good place to start so it may help.
It may help too if you remember that breathing and relaxing the body and arms should help you SWING and not PULL which will help you with club head speed and distance. So Jerry, the right arm should still be used fully but can only work in tandem with the left when we set up correctly. Then we can swing freely and with speed to. Hope this may help you.
