Tips For Working The Ball

Wilfred Perkins sent in a question asking how he can work the ball using the Peak Performance Golf Swing.

"I have been using Don's technique for several years. I am 83, so I enjoy every outing, realizing that something could happen anytime which would conclude my golf. Do you have suggestions as to how I can learn to work the ball? I do not hit long. I usually drive with my three wood, because I am more accurate, and hit it as long as I do with a driver. My distance is around 175. Thank you for considering my request."

Well, for Wilfred or anyone else trying to shape shots, there are a few basic things you can do to work the ball. Some instructors suggest that you have to change your grip in order to alter the ball flight. However, I'm here to tell you that you never want to change your grip regardless of what shot you're trying to accomplish. Instead, you just shut or open the clubface while maintaining the same grip on the club. This will give you a slight draw or fade, depending on what the shot calls for.

There are some more advanced ways of working the ball, however I don't have enough time to explain it all in a daily video. But, these advanced techniques are available in my full length video "Working The Ball", which is available in Surge's Shop. I highly recommend this video to anyone looking to improve their game. Check it out and you'll be amazed at how easy it is to control what you want the ball to do.
